Breitling W's sire, Bismarck, who was bred via Bolero-Duellant, was trained up to advanced class dressage. The dam Maja produced Breitling W's full-sister Meggle's Biagiotti W from the same mating combination. Meggle's Biagiotti W was a successful advanced class dressage competition sports horse under Markus Gribbe. Mated with Woodstock, Maja produced the chestnut mare Watussi W, who is also an international dressage sports horse. The dam-sire Maat 1 was promoted up to Grand Prix. The Grand Prix horses Barnsby W and the approved Burlington W are close relatives, as they were likewise both sired by Bismarck and are out of a full-sister of Breitling W's dam. The damline is one of great tradition, which despite its broad dissemination has its origins in the Hanoverian selective breeding region of Wursten. It produced inter alia, the stallions Dolan and Tamagno (both private stallions Westphalia), Lanceur (Marbach state stallion), Tambourine (private stallion Canada) and the highly successful stallion Trajan (private stallion Rhineland).

Breitling W is used to successes on the international dressage circuit. He was trained and promoted very carefully, without pushing him to the limits. In this way, he was able to complete with ease all the stages of an active sports career, such as state championships and federal championships. By the age of seven he had already fulfilled all the requirements for his renewed approval and licensing for the leading breeding associations. At the same time he became a Grand Prix winner against the very stiffest of opposition as well as successful in freestyle competitions at Grand Prix level.

He was approved in Oldenburg in his youth and initially covered the mares of the Wittig/Tiemann family.

Breitling W's breeding products from his first covering stint are beginning promising careers in the dressage sport. Five competition sports horses have been registered with the FN and all five have been successful so far. He presented first class finalists for the Federal German Dressage Championships: Balalaika W and Borgward W
